Christina Wooten:

When you're traveling and you're a sensitive person, energy protection is something that should be on the forefront of your mind, not only so that you don't get knocked off course by everybody's emotional energy that's around you at the airport, but also so that you're not disturbed in the middle of the night by other energies walking around your hotel. Today, we're talking about some of our experiences in traveling safely.

Hey there, kindred spirits. Welcome to Modern life and spirit podcast. This is Christina Wooten, certified psychic medium at SedonaMedium.com and Robert I feel like it's been a long time since we've been together. So I'm glad that you are here. Thank you for being here. I know that you're generally always doing this behind the scenes, stuff that other people aren't seeing, but I'm glad that you are here with your essence and energy for us today.

Robert Wooten:

Well, thank you. That's very kind of you. I am Reiki master teacher Robert Wood, as you well know, I do know that, yes, indeed, and I am glad to be back and especially at this time of year, as everything is starting to go through it seasonal changes. The weather is getting slightly cooler. I think the morning, no,

Christina Wooten:

it's not so here, let's rant for a moment. Listen, there was a tease. We got a fall tease where we had some cool evenings, cool mornings, it was not 100 degrees, and then it just snatched that away from us, and now we're back in what feels like high heat time, but there are pumpkins out at the grocery store, so that feels Halloween ish, that feels folly. I am looking forward to making some pumpkin bread. So that feels like fall, but like it's not, doesn't feel like it's in the atmosphere for us quite yet. Well,

Robert Wooten:

it generally happens in one day. You get one day of fall, and then suddenly it's cold at night. So I guess we're gonna see some of that this year. So the weather has been kind of strange everywhere this year. It seems like, I

Christina Wooten:

think, almost the weather is sort of reflecting what is, what has been happening this year, internally, for people with all of the energy that's coming through, the shifts, the change, these huge, sometimes unwanted transformations that are occurring. But, you know, ultimately, there's, you know, we know, having gone through the journey of transformation before that, on the other side of it, there's there's purpose, there's more clarity and a deeper, you know, bandwidth of understanding. But I really feel like all this weather pattern that has been happening is just this reflection energetically of all of this stuff that is is going on and is happening, and this is a time to really be extra loving to ourselves and to other people, and to realize that this is a significant time that all of us chose to be here for this collective consciousness change, to participate in paradigm shifting, to raise energy, to raise vibration. We said, of all the times we would love to incarnate here at this time, to either be a helper or to, you know, experience this process of shifting to be here for the tumultuous part of that journey, which I think we're in in right now. It's an interesting time, but one that you know we're equipped for.

Robert Wooten:

I think there are these periods of of rough throughout human history, and carnations, and they bring forth the next level of energy, the next wave of transformation and growth and expansion and to a degree, ascension of the whole human race. And when we go down in these valleys of this what feels like the pit of despair with our energy, sometimes just know that it comes back up, hopefully within our incarnation, it comes back up, and we get to see the rewards of having endured and moved forward and plowed forward. And what I'm getting at is, I think that these kinds of times are especially difficult on the energy sensitive, because you do feel all of the stress and all of the anxiety of other people around you, and you can feel the strange electricity in the air, brought on by these storms, or brought on by this tumultuous, weird weather that we're having is it has a it wreaks havoc on your energetic body, if you're allowing it, if you're really tapping into feeling or you're open to feeling, yeah. You can feel these shifts in this energy, and it's it can be hard on energetically sensitive people. I think what I'm

Christina Wooten:

seeing personally is just what appears to me, and my interpretation to be lessons around power. There's a lot of desire for control, or people you know, vying for different types of control and and also, at the same time, internally, what we're doing is shifting that spectrum inside to move forward, to come into our own sense of power and awakening. And, you know, recognizing that we're the gateway of truth, we're starting to get into those months where a lot of people are thinking about traveling, whether you're going to peep some leaves or you're going to visit family, because you know the November time and December time is coming, but traveling for energy sensitive people can have such a big impact. I appreciate being at home as an energy sensitive person, because I feel like I have my energetic boundaries are really strong in this space. I feel like I understand the flow of energy, and I have a strong center point here, like it's very peaceful, it's very calm. So when you're leaving your preferred environment, though, and going out into the world, you're suddenly encountering a lot of different energies, and I'm talking about going to the airport or road raging people on a road trip or going to hotels. And that's not to say that all travel, you know, has this negative impact or element. I've had really amazing, wonderful, uplifting experiences. You know, top of my mind are the times where I traveled here to Sedona and had some incredible downloads of energy that I brought back home. And it really uplifted my energy. It uplifted my consciousness. It was an amazing point of check in. There can be incredible things that come out of getting outside of our bubble, being exposed to different cultures, being exposed to different places, that awakens something profound within us that we can't just get by following some of our old routines or staying in the same energy we need things that awaken us, whether it's new routines, new experiences and going to some of these new places. So to be clear, I love traveling. I don't get to do it nearly as much as I would like to be able to do it, but it is something that I found very valuable in my life journey, and that every time I go somewhere, I feel it lifts my energy. It renews me in some way. It helps me to, you know, review my life and review the world from just completely different eyes. And I usually come back and I'm like, ready to change things, or I have more clarity about whether something is working or not working. It's those fresh eyes make such a difference. But you're also, like I said, you're going into these different environments, and energy protection is important to think about when you are going into these environments. Robert, you have spent a lot of your career traveling all over from all over the world, you know, in the last several years, all over the US, but I thought that we would talk about both of our experiences as being energy sensitive people and finding things that really work for us, so that when we are moving out of these protected environments and nourished high vibrational spaces of our Home and moving into other spaces, how we can feel calm and at peace and comfortable in those spaces. And I think it's taken for us, and I know it has for me, a lot of trial and error, you know, usually finding like, oh, that didn't work out, you know, and that and something happened, and then having to adjust and finding something that did work so that, you know, it was preempting things and managing moving into different environments better. So you've spent a lot of time at airports, way more than I have spent you have edited this podcast on several occasions at airports, or, you know, when a flight got canceled, or on the airplane, you know, many miles above the Earth. So you've had a chance to work with all those energies. From that, you know, everybody lining up and kind of all our auras smashing together, to being in a really small space, in a really small container with lots of different people's emotions flying around. There certainly a lot of people who are very nervous flying and that can be intense, especially if you are near someone and their energy is really reaching out. So what have you found that really has helped you as a really sensitive Empath to. Feel comfortable in an airport. What are your tricks and tips? Yeah,

Robert Wooten:

I think that the most important thing that I've discovered is how to identify your own energy and then hold it to yourself, and then as you're making that transition, and that's something that you have to be aware of. That is happening when you begin your trip. It starts when you're packing your bags, right? You're making that mental transition to this is going to be different. This is going to be a different energy. Then you get to the airport, and that's the starting point of,

Christina Wooten:

like, kind of, like mentally preparing yourself, like getting into the mindset, right? Because,

Robert Wooten:

and that's important, because when you are identifying that this is now changing, and you're moving into this new place, you become more protective of your own energy. And so what I do is I draw my energy in a little bit, a little bit, and then I fill myself with the white light, and then I cover about four or five feet outside of myself, so that I feel completely encased in my own energy. And of course, I'm very familiar with what my own energy feels like. So if anything were to come past that, then I know it's not mine, and I I sent it on its way, I pushed it back away from me, and don't accept that in and that happens, especially when you make that transition into how busy airports can be. There's 1000s, maybe millions in some airports, it seems like of people just moving around, rushing or rushing, rushing. Some are in a huge hurry. Some are, like you said, very anxious about something. Some have missed a flight and they're mad or their luggage didn't make it, and they're really angry or upset, and all of these different energies are just swirling around inside this space that is the airport. And so when you're moving through there, you can get caught up in that feeling. You can suddenly start feeling like, why am I feeling anxious? Or why am I feeling suddenly rushed and angry? It's possibly not you that you're just now feeling this energy because you haven't protected yourself enough from that energy coming and just bombarding your system. So that's the first thing you should do is, as you're arriving at the airport, bubble up. If you know how to do that, it's just basically imagining a shield around yourself, imagining a barrier of white light energy around you, and then filling your own self with white light energy that emanates outward. You're pushing this white energy outward. It's creating a buffer. That's exactly right. So when you are around these people and around other energies, it's not influencing your energy. But also you have to be aware that you don't have to absorb every kind of energy that you come across. You can feel out for an energy or an energy touches you, and you can say, Oh, this is this energy coming from outside. You don't have to absorb it in and let it inside. And yeah,

Christina Wooten:

and really, just doing check in, I think self check in, when you're like, suddenly you're finding yourself really irritated and like, oh, and you go, Wait a minute. What's what's going on? Is this is my stuff, or did I pick this up from somewhere? And when you just that question, usually, if it's not yours, you'll be like, Oh, this isn't mine. I think it's a matter of being really intentional about how you are coming into this situation to begin with, so that you can mentally prepare to be as as centered as you possibly can be, as prepared as you can be, as loving and nurturing as you can be in that stressful environment.

Robert Wooten:

So after we get through the airport, I usually have another ritual of something that I really like to do, and that is when I walk up to the plane as we're going down the gangplank to get on the plane, I'll put my hand on the plane, and then I will get whatever impressions that I might pick up from there. And I've never had it happen, but I am ready for the fact that if I feel something really terrible, or I feel a really dark energy or heavy energy that is coming from this plane, then I might have to just not take that plane. You know? I might just have to back up and and say, Well, wait, maybe I can reschedule for another plane. And what I found funny, though, is that I just read a thread the other day that was about this very subject, about people who do this. It was someone had posted that they do it, and we were curious as to whether other people also walk up and put their hands on the plane. And, you know, I thought I was the only one. I've never seen anyone else do it, or was aware that other people were doing the same thing that I was doing. Or maybe they looked like so casual at it that I didn't catch that's what they were doing. But to our listeners, if you do this, if you have a ritual of walking up and putting your hand on the plane, I'd like to hear it. I think it's an interesting it's an interesting thing that people do. And the other question I would ask for you is, if you felt something, what would you do about it? Would you bail on the plane? Would you bail on the flight? Or would you just say, well, let's see what happens. I've started

Christina Wooten:

to learn what my emergency alarm bell is. Now, there can be different, varying degrees of that, you know, ones where it's like, this is uncomfortable, or don't go in there. But I've, I've had a couple of times that I can remember very clearly were like, Get up, get out. Get up, get out. Right now, so much so that I was like, Oh my gosh. And in both of those situations, I stayed because it was a new, energetic experience. I was like, This is crazy. Like, why am I responding this way? And afterwards, I was like, oh, I should have gotten up and gone now, right that second. So now I feel like that would be the feeling. It's so strong and pervasive and like, just panicky, almost, that if I felt that getting on the plane, then I would definitely be like, up, it's time to go. And because I've recognized that experience when I touch the plane, because I do that when I walk in, it's more of a like, good boy. And I was like, why is it in my consciousness that, like, the plane is a puppy or something? I'm like, good boy. Okay, so let's talk about hotels. So hotels have this tendency. We've heard a lot of ghost stories that come from hotels, from Earthbound spirits. Who are there? I mean, hotels Number one, don't have very good energetic boundaries. They are attracting lots of different people. They're welcoming others to their space. Come welcome. We'd love to have you strangers and people of all backgrounds. Come on in. And usually the management isn't really there either. They're not on site, they're not around. So there's not anyone that really has in most places as much ownership about like, this is my space. This is energetic boundaries. I think that would be different in places like bed and breakfasts or, you know, smaller inns or things like that. You have, usually an owner on site, or an innkeeper, and someone who has those energetic like this is mine. But you know, when you're going to a larger hotel space, most of the time you have, you know, workers there and people who aren't necessarily taking ownership energetically at the space. So as a result, we have people who are coming having very emotional experiences at a hotel. Some earthbound spirits return to hotels sometimes, because it represents times where they were happy in their life, or joyous memories. It can also represent really sad, upsetting memories and challenges, and because there's not good, energetic boundaries, and there's lot of people's energy to feed off of, like this constant, you know, rotation of people that may have different energies that those earthbound spirits can work with to continue to self animate, makes it for a right space for a lot of stuff. And of course, then you have residual energy of just people who are, you know, leaving their gunk in the walls and the mattresses and all of that. So for you, what have you found has worked via I've definitely had some wacko experiences at hotels that made me realize, oh, I need to do some different things. I had a weird experience at an Airbnb room that made me be really, really intentional about like, energetically touring spaces before I, you know, actually choose to book. So what is your routine that you have that seems to help you with all that energy?

Robert Wooten:

I have been into places before, where, as soon as I walked into the place, you could feel the weight of the place. You can tell like this is not a happy place. And you look at the people that are working there, and they don't seem very happy, whereas either they're just grumpy looking or they just don't care that you're there, it seems like at the front desk, and then you look around at the other guests that are kind of milling about, and they're moving slowly. They look like they're just got the weight on the of the world on them, and that that's a not a good feeling. It doesn't make you feel really welcome. But sometimes, when you're traveling for business, someone else has put you in this room, and you just got to go be in that room. Yeah. And so what I do is, as I'm driving up to it, I sense, what does the whole building feel like? What is my impression energetically? And if it feels heavy, then I'm on guard for going in and being more protective. And so when I go in my room. One of the first things I will do is I will push white light into the room, and I push a whole boundary that I create inside the room. Sometimes, if I need to, I'll I do carry some sandalwood incense with me, and I'll put that out. And I use Sandalwood specifically because sage smells like cigarette smoke to a lot of people, and they will set off smoke alarms, and most hotels nowadays are non smoking. So I don't do it very long. I just do enough to, yeah, you

Christina Wooten:

just kind of walk around almost like with a sage stick or something, with your sandalwood. I've seen you do that. So it's not very long, right?

Robert Wooten:

And it's not putting much in there. For me. It sets that tone for, like, I'm only inviting high level energies here, and I am not welcoming anything else. And then I make a statement to that case, that this is for the time I'm here, and I'll give a date from this point to this point, this is my energetic space. Only myself and any other high level helpful beings are allowed to be in this space, and all other beings are to be kept. Out for the duration of this time, because I don't see myself as I'm not going there to exercise this place. I'm not there to try to cleanse the entire space. It's not my place to do that. I haven't been asked to do that by the owners, so I don't feel like it's appropriate for me to try to do that, but it is appropriate for me to set a boundary on what my space is, and to be entitled to have that space be only for me at that moment. And so I'm not going to be woken up in the middle of the night by something roaming around in my room, knocking things over, or I'm not going to be woken up by a being that wants to come touch me in the night, or, you know, frighten me in some way. I have had that happen. I've gotten in late before, and I didn't have a moment to do the cleansing or the clearing. And then in the middle of the night, I wake up, and I can only describe it as like, this immense sense of dread, you know, like you're feeling like something really terrible is about to happen. And you wake up with this sense, like, you know, what is that? What is this feeling? And then I'm aware like, oh, okay, it's some energy that's moving through here that's trying to trying to get me to be afraid. He's trying to arouse these fear feelings. Because a lot of these beings, they really like that fear feeling. It gives them a lot of power and a lot of energy. And so you have to push back away from that. You have to recognize that that that being doesn't belong there. You tell them they have to leave. You tell them that this is your space, and then you do the clearing like I talked about. I think you have a different way of doing yours, though I've seen you do something different when we travel. Mine

Christina Wooten:

is easy peasy. Okay, so my number one thing I travel with this every time, without exception, I have a very inexpensive Selenite cathedral that I always tell people that if I was just gonna grab things from my house, you know, other than important papers in my children's photos and the things that they need, I would grab my Selenite like that would be the thing that comes with me. And so I have a Selenite cathedral. It's relatively small. It's probably about the size of my hand when my hand is extended. So it's not very big, but I travel with it everywhere that I go. I wrap it up in, you know, usually like a sweatshirt or pajamas or things that, you know, give it a nice big cushion, because Selenite can be delicate. It's not quite as delicate in a tower formation, but it can be so just wrap it up with lots of stuff, and then I stick it in the nightstand, in between the two beds, and it lifts that vibration, kind of like what you were talking about. There's a difference between creating such a shield, but also just making it inhospitable for negative energies. And Selenite does that. It's very, very cleansing. It's called the light bringer for a reason, it's a very, very cleansing and very spiritual sort of stone. So it has never failed me. It always immediately lifts the vibration. It shifts any weird energy that people have left behind, and it makes the room feel so warm and so good. It's very comforting and very inviting. I love having that. And it was like $15 super, super cheapy. Everyone should do it. And also, if there's some major funk going on or, you know, maybe I don't like the energy with the people next door, or something like that, then I'll do Reiki symbols on all the walls, the floor, the ceiling, all of that, that adds an extra and in the center of the room, and that adds an extra energy support as well that just immediately lifts and clears the vibration. And when I've done that, I've never had any issues where, you know, something has come in or woken me in the middle of the night, or tried to, you know, touch my shoulder, my hair, or anything like that. And what is it with all of these earthbound spirits who are always trying to get in bed with women. I don't know, just a side note, like, what is going on? Always trying to be crazy. But anyway, well, it's

Robert Wooten:

not just women. Because my brother has had one do that with him in a space that he lived in for a little while where some earthbound he thought it was a female form, like, try to get into bed with him, but then she would like, pull his hair, or she would like poke him in the ribs, or something like that. Like

Christina Wooten:

in a in an aggressive way, or, like, in a knowing, an aggressive in a like, what? What's up?

Robert Wooten:

No more, more of a I'm here to annoy you sort of way. Or you're in my space. It made it the way he felt. It was, it was he was in her space,

Christina Wooten:

and she didn't. She's like, what do you what are you doing? What's this man doing in my bed, getting out of my bed? Oh, my goodness.

Robert Wooten:

Strangely though, whenever his wife is around, or when he was dating this woman, he was now his wife, that entity never showed up. She only came around when it was just him.

Christina Wooten:

I bet not. I bet not. Oh, that's interesting. Yeah. And

Robert Wooten:

one other thing that I like to do also is if I feel like I can't handle it myself, I think that the two different approaches we have is that you're allowing the charged Selenite to do its beacon duty where it's doing Yes, that's

Christina Wooten:

a great word for it, the beacon. Yes, it's putting

Robert Wooten:

out this energy. It's putting out this creating this boundary inside the space of the. High level energy, and mine is more of like I'm, you know, putting energy in myself, and I'm handling that on my own. But if either of those two don't work, or if they're not working as strongly as you would like, I think it's always appropriate to ask your guides to come give you a hand and help you out where you are wanting this boundary to be, or or to invite Archangel Michael to come help you out, and to stand watch, to guard these, these boundaries inside your room for you as well. I think those things are very powerful things that you can do to help set this as a this is my space. I think the key word is boundaries.

Christina Wooten:

Well, I think asking spirit, your your guides in particular, to help prepare the room, or to prepare the space. So if I'm getting ready to check into an Airbnb or something like that, you know, asking them to go ahead and to make sure that things are cleansed and prepared, I found that that works really well. And if you are finding that something is happening that you're uncomfortable with, or you're anxious about, or you're feeling you wake up in the middle of the night with that doom and gloom kind of feeling like, oh, something's in the room, calling on Archangel Michael can be really helpful, not just to try and reduce the energy of whatever entity is or being happens to be in this space with you, but also in Helping you to work through your fear and your stress and anxiety, which just kind of feeds a lot of those energies. So if you do have, like, where you wake up in the middle of the night and you're like, oh, oh no, Archangel Michael, just focusing on that and focusing on, you know, allowing that energy to be present and work its magic in a space can really make a difference. I mean, I've called in Archangel Michael. I don't have to do it very often, but occasionally, you know, if I'm doing a reading for someone, and then you know that spirit doesn't want to leave, like, they're like, Oh, I really, really like Christina, and I like the space and like school energy. And I'm like, nope, occasionally I have to call in Archangel Michael for those purposes, and it really is a very instantaneous kind of response. So I

Robert Wooten:

probably only ever had to do that once or twice. I remember one distinctly. I was in a very old hotel, and I was up on maybe the fourth or fifth floor, and there was a storm that was on the way. And I remember I woke up with that dread, like you said, doom and gloom.

Christina Wooten:

Feel that storm energy probably gave it a bunch of power. And the the impression

Robert Wooten:

that it was giving me was like the building was going to collapse, that something terrible was going to happen inside the building, and you better run. You better be, you know, be afraid and but I could feel that it wasn't, it wasn't an intuitive feeling. It didn't match with the intuition that I was listening to when I checked in, it was coming from external, like I said, understanding what's your energy, what's coming from your guides, and what's not. Yeah, definitely felt external. It did not feel like it was something that I was aware of, but I could see how you might get that confused if you weren't as, maybe as dialed in as you could be in terms of, like, what is really coming to you and what is being fed to you. I felt like that. That was not enough. That's what

Christina Wooten:

it wanted you to believe or wanted you to react to

Robert Wooten:

again, creating that fear. And as soon as I called Archangel Michael to come help me out with it, to let me know whether this was a real thing and if it isn't, then to help me move that energy out. It stopped immediately. The feeling went away, the impressions went away, everything just kind of went away all at one time. So yeah, that's a really good way to set that boundary, because Archangel Michael is a powerful guardian and is always available and willing to help anytime you want to call on

Christina Wooten:

my experiences with Archangel Michael, though, I think before I've worked with Archangel Michael, I thought that it was this very almost aggressive energy that would come in and be like, gonna protect me and but really, everything I've ever done with Archangel Michael felt very loving, and, you know, guiding towards compassion, kindness, love, Like there's a strength and a power to love and into that pure essence of love, energy that repels other things, and that's been my experience with Archangel Michael. Is not that it's like how it's typically depicted in imagery of like I'm stomping on the demon's head with this big sword. It's more of this, that beacon of love and light that seems to shift powerfully the energy around it. So I've always found that it's this really comforting, loving, gentle energy. So I hope, as people are, you know, moving forward and thinking about making certain trips, especially if you're traveling to a historic area, or an area where you just know, there hasn't been a whole lot of cleansing, or there's been some natural disasters in that space that there's a lot to consider for from an energy perspective, to make sure that you are feeling recharged and not drained at the end of your experience, and that your you know space is supporting and uplifting you, especially when you leave. Of what is your home and the environment that you generally helps to uplift you, and that vibration that helps you a lot when you're moving into other spaces. Just know that you know, ultimately, your energy has an incredible power to it and incredible strength to it. So use that energy as being kind of the basis for everything else that's around you, and know that by setting those intentions, by being clear about what's in your space and having strong boundaries, that you can create a really loving and supportive space to be your background for whatever it is special thing that you're doing in that time.
